Riverine and Estuarine Transport (RIVET) Experiment I

About This Project

The RIVET campaign was an Office of Naval Research sponsored two-part field experiment undertaken to study the dynamic wind-wave-current coupling in and around tidal inlets. RIVET I took place during April – June of 2012 at the New River Inlet, NC. We designed, built, and deployed a specialized air-sea interaction platform, the Surface Physics Experimental Catamaran (SPEC), as part of this multi-institutional effort.
