About This Project
Designing effective instruments is a key component of oceanographic work. The SUSTAIN laboratory enables efficient testing of various sensors while maintaining control of the environmental conditions. A variety of instruments and observational techniques have been developed in SUSTAIN in order to capture specific physical processes, from shadowgraphy for imaging of bubbles under breaking waves, high speed side-camera imaging of wave growth and breaking, to custom vertical wind profilers.
